20th Anniversary Year
20 years Old!
Thanks again to all of those who attended our 20th birthday party and helped to make it such a great success. Even though our official Birthday was the 17th November 2007 we intend to celebrate for a whole year with fantastic trips and exciting activities. Some of the trips I'm afraid to say have already been and gone but there are already lots more organised for 2008 and even 2009 with still more to come. WATCH THIS SPACE! (And of course check out the calendar.)
2 for One Try Dives
To celebrate our 20th anniversary we are offering two try dives for the price of one. This is the ideal reason to bring along those friends or family members who have always said that they would love to scuba dive. A try dive is an introduction to scuba diving in the pool under the gentle guidance of our experienced training staff. Try dives make a good present for someone with whom you would like to start diving. (We do gift vouchers.) As a further encouragement the £20 for the try dive(s) can be deducted from the cost of an open water course if a booking is made within 2 weeks of the try dive.
If, sadly, you only have one friend, then as a qualified diver you can practise your skills in the pool while they are doing their try dive all for the £20!
Weekly Pool Sessions
We have a pool session at Chelsea Pool, on the Kings Road, every Thursday evening, from 9-10pm. For those of you who dive already this would be a good opportunity to refresh those skills before a dive trip or try out new equipment. Space is sometimes limited so you would need to book first, and one hour in the pool with all the additional equipment that you need is £10. Bring a non-diving friend for a £20 try dive.
Social Evening
Our social evening is held on the First Monday of each month. We meet at The Rutland Pub, We will be there from 7:30 p.m. onwards. We normally have some photos, slides, or other item of interest as well as a drink and a chat so do bring a friend and the photos from your last trip. further along the river fThe Rutland is on the corner of the first block heading away from Hammersmith Bridge. The address is 15 Lower Mall, W6 9DJ. See you there.
Online Store
After thousands of hours of work cataloging, photographing and typing, the online shop is up and running. We are very pleased with the results and hope that you will be too. There is already a large range of items on the site at great prices. More items are being added all the time so if you don't yet see what you are after do give us a ring or drop us an e-mail. If you can't decide what to buy for somebody we also have gift vouchers that make ideal presents.
Report on Andaman Islands March 14th to 25th 2008 Easter Trip
We had a fantastic trip on a really comfortable boat. The Andaman Islands were very interesting, with mantas and sharks for those of us interested in the big stuff as well as some fantastic corals and smaller things for those into their macro life. These Islands are hardly dived and as we cruised around in our beautiful yacht Siren we hardly saw any other boats, let alone dive boats! The boat had a mainly Thai crew who did us proud with their gastronomic delights. We have re-booked the boat for our Komodo trip in September 2009 as we were so impressed with the care and attention that we recieved.

IWe arranged an extra 'Tigers and Taj' tour so most of us journeyed into India to visit an area kept as a tiger reserve. We were lucky enough to see tigers, and tigers with cubs and tigers swimming as well as a host of other wildlife before heading home via the fantastic Red Fort and Taj Mahal at Agra. A perfect end to a perfect trip. Andamans Trip.
Brothers, Daedalus and Elphinstone trip 28th May until 4th June 2008

After last years great trip we have booked for this year. This is definitely the best time of year to go. We saw grey reef sharks, white tip reef sharks, oceanic white tip sharks, thresher sharks, hammerhead sharks, manta rays and oceanic sun fish to name just a few. Check out the gallery from last year. The price is £989. See more details.

Komodo Trip September 2009
We have organised a trip to Komodo on the live aboard Siren. This is the same fantastic boat we are using for this years (2008) Andaman trip so you can check out the boat details here. (Also see the boat picture in the Andaman section above.) I have done some of my best divers ever around Komodo. There is a real mixture of dive sites. There are black sand dives with hairy frogfish, ambon scorpionfish and all the strange fauna that you would find in Lembeh. You can also do long drift dives along walls covered in safron coloured soft corals. There should also be plenty of pelagics and at the other end of the scale pigmy seahorses and nudibrancs. The trip will include visits to the islands Komodo and Rinca to see the DRAGONS!
The dates on the boat are from the 7th to the 16th of September but we will need a fews extra days for travelling. The boat only cost is £1450. There will be more details to follow so if you would like to be kept up to date or express an interest please e-mail us at komodo@e-scuba.co.uk and watch here for more details. Report from Last Septembers Red Sea Trip
We arranged a late summer trip to dive the warm waters of the Red Sea. The Red Sea is renowned for its warm, clear blue waters, colourful hard and soft corals and for the amazing fish life. It is also famous for some spectacular wall dives and fabulous wrecks. (Check out the gallery) It was a good time of year to go as the water is at its warmest, 27-28 degrees C, but the air temperature has cooled down a little from the mid-summer peak.
We were staying on the deluxe, 'platinum class', live-aboard boat, Supreme. The degree of comfort, space and facilities on board make this boat a real treat to stay on.
We dived many exciting sites in perfect conditions and even found a couple of previously unrecorded, and cruelly named, warty frog fish.
The wonderful colours of the soft corals were as good as ever. The soft corals are especially beautiful on the night dives when they 'blossom' and act as homes for little creatures such as this spider crab.

There were plenty of other beautiful creatures many of which were found on the wrecks that we dived, keeping both wreck and wildlife enthusiast happy at the same time. Here are a few of the pictures from this trip to keep you going until the new gallery is up and running.

Congratulations to all the students that completed their rescue course on this trip. We will be running a couple more of these trip later this year so keep checking back for dates or e-mail us at travel@e-scuba.co.uk if you would like to be kept updated. Report on Irian Jaya,Raja Ampat Trip November 2007
We went to the Birds Head Penninsula of Irian Jaya, the area the scientific community thinks is were coral reefs first evolved due to there being more species here than anywhere else. The diving in the whole area was great; the coral, hard and soft, was unspoilt and growing in profusion in a stunning variety of colours largely due to being well fed by the stong currents. We saw mantas and wobegongs and the newly discovered but shy walking shark. We also had a full selection of pigmy seahorses and nudibrancs. Check back soon to see the gallery.
