Proposed itinerary for the Peru trip

 

Day one, 12th April Lima:

Arrive Lima and transfer to hotel.

 

Day two, 13th April Puno:

Charter bus to airport and fly from Lima to Juliaca 0900 / 1115 and charter bus to Puno visiting Sillustani and farmers house en route.

 

Day three 14th April Puno:

Optional excursion Taquile Island (LG).  Boat to Taquile Island and walk to local village for lunch.  In the afternoon return to Puno stopping for a visit to the Uros Islands Late afternoon optional visit to Yavari steamer by taxi or visit market.

 

Day 4 15th April Cusco

Charter bus to station and take the train (tourist class) 0800/1800 to Cusco via La Raya Pass (4319m).  Transfer by charter bus to hotel.

 

Day 5 16th April Cusco

Morning half-day excursion by bus to Pisac and visit market.  Then onto Sacsayhuaman for visit and bus to town centre.
Afternoon walking tour visiting Plaza de Armas, Hatun Rumiyoc, Qoricancha.

 

Day6  17th April Aquas Calientes

Bus to station and train to Aguas Calientes on arrival take public bus to Machu Picchu and vist site for 4 hrs.  Public bus to Aguas Calientes.  Evening optional visit to thermal baths.

 

Day 7 18th April Cusco

Public bus to Machu Picchu and revisit site 4 hrs. Self-guided options are to walk to Wayna Picchu (2 hr return) or walk to Winay Wayna (4 hrs return) or walk to Gate of Sun (2 hrs return).
Public bus to Aguas Calientes and train to Ollantaytambo in mid afternoon, then bus to Cusco.

 

Day 8 19th April Lima

Bus to airport (15 mins) + Fly N6 CUZ / LIM 0800 / 0900.  Free afternoon in Lima.

 

Day 9 20th April

Tour ends in Lima. Fly home
